Turning One!

My heart just breaks as I type this.  It seems like yesterday that I had Avery.  I'll never forget the pure joy I felt when they placed her in my arms.  I was so extremely happy, and I didn't get the hormonal, emotional mess after having her that I had after having Makenzie and Presley.  I was so blissfully happy and in love with this sweet girl...still am! I am NOT ready for her to be turning a year old so soon, but I have loved every minute of watching her grow and learn new things.

Avery Kathryn, Mommy and Daddy love you so very much.  You are such a joy and a blessing.  We hope you always know how very much you are loved.

I always try to go all out when it comes to my kids' first birthday parties.  I know the party isn't really for them since they have no clue what's going on, but it's all about the memories.  Avery's party will have a shabby chic theme.  Can't wait...just hope I can find the time to get it done!  Pictures to come soon....

Here's the invite thanks to Marlie (again)!  Have I mentioned we have a great photographer? LOL...I don't know how Marlie managed to get the photos she did  from our little mini photo shoot, but if you'd have been there you'd totally agree.  This little girl was everywhere! She wouldn't sit still for a minute or even smile, but Marlie is good, I tell ya!

Oh So Sassy....

The girls were asked to be in Sissy and Taylor's wedding...they had to pose for pictures before rehearsal!

They crack me up with all their attitude!

Pretty girls (and handsome boys too).  The girls and Tucker love our former pastor, Bro. Ralph, so much, and they were all sooo excited when they saw him!

Our Little Model

Avery posed for our ad in February's Town and Gown Magazine, and after working my tail off to get her to smile a little, we actually got some cute shots!

Check out the magazine for our Polka Tots ad! They did a great job on it if I do say so myself!

First Steps

My Mom has been working with Avery on the walking...she's starting to get the hang of it!

She took her first steps at the end of her 10th month.  At eleven months, she's on the move.  Wayne acts like he's going to get her when she's walking, and she tries to run from him.  Need to get video of it, but she scares me to death, and I have to be there to catch her when she takes off and lunges for me!

Valentines Day Cuties

Ten months old (almost 11!) and all smiles....

until Mom starts taking pictures that is!

Trying to get this picture of all 3 of them was torture.  NO ONE wanted to have their pictures made today...oh well!

She's Seven Already???

Where is the time going? So hard to believe my first precious baby is already turning seven.  We celebrated with cupcakes at school and bowling with the bestie, Ava.  Mak was sick on her actual birthday so we had to postpone her family party, but we were able to celebrate with everyone a week later.  Good thing the cake froze well and was delicious after thawing!

She designed her own cake.  She knew exactly what she wanted and described it in detail.  Thankfully, Mrs. Leslie (who makes our cakes) was able to do exactly what she asked!

One excited little girl...

We Must Be Crazy....

Three days after Christmas we bought a children's clothing boutique!  Polka Tots has always been a store I have adored, and in the past I have daydreamed about buying it lol.  When a friend mentioned it being for sale in conversation one day, I jokingly told Wayne we should buy it.  Imagine my shock, when he said he thought we really should look into it.  As it turns out, the owner of the store actually works in the same building with me at MSU, and we didn't even know each other! After talking with her many times, and praying over the decision for several weeks, we made an offer and praise God, she accepted!

We are so VERY excited to start this new adventure in our lives.  This has always been a dream of mine, and I am so thankful that my hubby recognized it was the perfect opportunity for me to give it a shot.  We know God has a plan for this business, and we just pray that he blesses it and allows us to use it for His glory.

Please be in prayer for our family as we adjust.  Being a Mom to 3 kids while working a full-time job at MSU, attending grad classes, and running a business full-time is not an easy undertaking, and I know there will be struggles.  Please pray for understanding from our kids as we settle in to a new routine, clarity in making decisions about our future, and growth for the business.  We can't wait to see what God is going to do!
