International Festival at MSU

Aunt Cathy, Angie, and I met Sat. afternoon and took the kids (8 total!) to the International Festival at MSU. We weren't able to get there until 2:00 and didn't realize it ended at 3:00, but the kids were still able to do a few fun things before we had to go.

We got in line for the Moon Jump just as they were getting ready to shut it down, but the wonderful people at Fun Time Inflatables allowed our kids to jump anyway for a bit before deflating it.
Each of the girls, of course, had to have their faces painted. They all waited patiently for their turns too..wow!

Aunt Cathy decided to rest on the pretty grass while the girls did the moon jump...it was such a pretty day that when we left MSU, we all headed to the park for some more play time and fun.

When we got home, Makenzie and Nashlynn decided to be Wayne's little helpers. They helped feed the calf, and then rode the 4-wheeler with him while he did some clean-up work in the garden. Overall, a great day!

New Baby Calf

Daddy brought home a calf Tuesday evening that he purchased from someone he works with. The calf's Moma died the day before leaving this little guy without anything to eat. Soo, we got the pleasant task of bottle-feeding him every day. It's been rather interesting so far! He butts at Wayne and he's actually bitten him once as well, but now that he's used to Wayne and I feeding him he'll actually come up to us now without trying to butt us, and we're able to pet him. The girls were so excited to see him, and Makenzie decided to name him Buddy Boy so Buddy it is!

Wayne's working on getting a fence up for him, but in the meantime we've been keeping him in the trailer. Makenzie likes to climb up on the side of the trailer and look in at him, but Presley won't have anything to do with him after he acted like he was going to butt at her the first time she stuck her head in to look at him! Makenzie asked to help Wayne feed him yesterday, and she thought it was the coolest thing ever!

She couldn't believe how hard he sucked on that bottle. Now, she asks to check on him every hour of the day lol, and she wants to feed him everytime too!

Overall, a very good experience for our girls. Just hope they don't get too attached...this little guy will be sold in a few months...no bulls at our house! But, I think we'll definitely do this again if the opportunity presents itself. We've really enjoyed it, and Wayne has always wanted to raise cows. It's nice to see him get to do something he's always wanted to do and it not cost us a fortune in the process lol!

Riding the Rhino with Papa

What's better than spending time with Papa on a beautiful day? NOTHING! The girls just LOVE to ride the Rhino with their Papa. They beg to ride every time they go over to visit. Papa had his hands full this time though! He had Makenzie and Presley, Britlee, and Hillaree so two girls rode in the back for the first time and thought they were super big LOL. You should have heard the groans when Papa said it was time to park it!

Playing at the Park

Yesterday was just too pretty of a day to play inside! The girls had a haircut appointment at 1:00 so we headed to Starkville a little early to run some errands. When lunch time rolled around, the girls asked for a picnic. I thought why not? So, we grabbed some Zaxby's and headed over to the park. It was a great little time out from our busy morning. The girls were all smiles and giggles as they chased each other around the park. Times like these make me want to just sit back, watch, and take everything in because I know they grow up way too quickly.

A Great Book

Since I was stuck in bed all weekend due to Pluracy (I guess that's how it's spelled) or inflamation in my ribs from coughing so much all month, I was able to read The Shack by William P. Young. If you haven't ever read this book, you should! It really opened my eyes to the heart of God and common misperceptions that we may have.

A friend recommended this book to me, and I hadn't had a chance to get to it until now, but I'm so thankful I did. There are definitely parts of this book that made me say, "What?", but thankfully I kept reading! What a blessing I got out of it!
Pick up a copy of this book today or if you've already read this book give it as a gift to someone you love. For someone going through a difficult time in their life and questioning God or God's purpose for thier life, it would definitely be life-changing. If you have ever asked, "Where was God?" during a hard time in your life, READ this book! You won't be disappointed!

Big News!!!

My sister and Brother-in-law found out Thursday that they'll be having a little BOY!!! Wayne and I are sooo very excited to be getting a nephew, and of course, Makenzie and Presley are beyond excited. They've been wantng a brother forever now & this is probably as close as they'll get to one lol! He'll be the first boy in our family so after my two girls and Britlee none of us could believe we were really going to get a little boy this time! Thank God he seems to be healthy and growing rapidly. July is taking way too long to get here, and none of us can wait to meet him!
